La Freund Recordings presents a new EP from Amsterdam based producer and modular synth enthusiast Sjamsoedin. Three varied tracks and two heavy remixes by Simon Weiss (Rush Hour / Voyage Direct) and Claude (a.k.a. Fulgeance) form the new label’s second release.
Sjam Sjamsoedin has been around the electronic music scene for over fifteen years, releasing music under various aliases. Since 2011 Sjamsoedin has been experimenting with a deeper and warmer sound built around strong grooves, combined with his love for (modular) synths and effects. Orion is Sjamsoedin’s first full length EP under his own name.
Juno Download review:
"Given the impressively high quality of La Freund Recordings' first release - a killer EP of dusty musical fusions from beat-digger Duke Hugh - hopes are naturally high for this follow-up. This time round, former Silhouette Noir artist Sjamsoedin is behind the mixing desk, strolling leisurely between deep, warm and spacey electronica ("Orion"), rolling Motor City techno-meets-piano house positivity ("The Drums") and jaunty-bass heavy late night dancefloor bliss ("Pastel"). The EP also boasts a pair of fine remixes. First "Claude" speeds up "Orion" and turns it into a fizzing, tech-funk stomper, before Voyage Direct regular Simon Weiss delivers a weird, loose, trippy and spacey interpretation of "Pastel".."
